Subsidies for private customers in Vienna
WAFF subsidies

The Vienna Employment Promotion Fund (waff) offers free career and further education counselling and assistance. Berlitz is a WAFF recognised educational institution.

The WAFF "Continuing Education Account" supports continuing education and vocational training for both the jobless and employed in Vienna who attend programmes offered by WAFF recognised educational institutions.

Employed persons receive: 50% of the course fee, up to €200.

Jobless persons (or persons on parental leave, on social assistance: 50% of the course fee, up to €300.

The WAFF training account is adressed to those seeking work related training and to those who want to continue their educational development. Both employed and unemployed residents of Vienna can apply to participate in this program.

Extent of support: For employeed: 50% of the course cost, up to a maximum of € 200.

For unemployed persons and jobseekers: 50% of course fees, up to a maximum of € 300.

Through the initiative "Training of Thousands", the WAFF supports the vocational training and further education of employed citizens in Vienna.

 

Extent of support:

  • WAFF Training of Thousands - in summary: The WAFF supports you with 90% of the course and examination costs, up to a maximum of € 1.000. Or 90% of the course fees and examination costs are provided, up to a maximum of € 3.000 for the first apprenticeship or for a training as part of a nostrifikation.
  • WAFF Training of Thousands - Low income (less than € 1.800 net per month): The WAFF provides support with 50% of the course fees and examination costs, up to a maximum of € 2.000.
  • WAFF Training Of Thousands - people with completed compulsory education: The WAFF provides support with 90% of the course and examination fees for the following cases:
    • maximum of € 1.000 for vocational education and training
    • maximum of € 3.000 for preparatory courses for first successful completion of extraordinary apprenticeship
    • maximum of € 3.000 for combination of vocational training and further education and extraordinary apprenticeship

With the founding of the bonus, the WAFF wants to support young people who want to continue their training and educational development right after their successful apprenticeship. The Education Bonus can also be taken in combination with the Education Account (Bildungskonto) and the WAFF Training of Thousands Account (WeiterbildungsTausender)!

Extent of support: Maximum funding up to € 200.

The waff program for labour force re-entry helps with individual advice on all matters concerning the topics career break or labour force re-entry. Furthermore, it provides financial support for planned training programs.

Level of support: clarifiaction in the guidance process, generally up to 100% of the course costs and up to a maximum of € 2,700.

FRECH is a special program for female labour force participants who wish to change their profession. The focus of FRECH is in the process of consulting female workers and developping realistic job prospects in collaboration. After extensive discussion, there is the possibility of financial support for education and training courses.

Level of support: 90% of course costs are covered, up to a maximum of 3,700.

The Chamber of Labour Education voucher is to simplify the access to training for members of the Chamber of Labour. The training voucher is a start-up capital for personal training and can be redeemed all at once or divided into several courses.

Level of support: € 120

Subsidies for private customers throughout Austria
Federal Social Services Office

fit2work, an austrian federal social service provider, helps employers, employees, job seekers, and the unemployed persons to return to employment; especially those who have become unemployed previously because of a sick leave.  The support areas include information distribution, advice and support on issues of mental and physical health in the workplace. The aim of fit2work is to prevent and avoid persons of working age leaving the workface ahead of time (early retirement or long term sick leave) by providing accessible information and advice. Fit2work uses the existing provision of various facilities to provide guidance, advice and support from a single competent source.

Subsidies for job seekers

People in educational leave can receive a further training allowance from the AMS. Level of additional support: paid as part of unemployment benefit which is currently a minimum of € 14.53 per day.
