Sample learning program for Berlizt kids in primary school:


1st lesson

The kids learn:

  • How to say hello, goodbye and introduce themselves
  • The alphabet
  • To count to 10, phone numbers
  • To speak about birthdays and the age of people
  • To describe people and name family members
  • Yes/no questions and demonstrative pronouns
  • To spell

 

 2nd lesson

The kids learn to:

  • Use modal verbs like "can"
  • Make up simple questions
  • Give directions
  • Speak about colours and clothes
  • Conjugate "to have" and "to be" 
  • Name animals and say what time it is
  • Negate
  • Speak about where people come from and about countries
  • Ask how many things there are



 3rd lesson

The kids learn:

  • Negative imperative forms
  • To use local prepositions ("near", "under", etc.)
  • Numbers up to 100
  • Countable and not countable nouns (e.g. "water" and "bottles of water") 
  • To name musical instruments
  • The present continuous ("Ing form") 
  • To put questions in the present continuous
  • To speak about holidays
  • To describe the weather and put questions about it
  • To express preferences and aversions

 

4th lesson:

The kids learn:

  • To describe where someone lives
  • To name compass directions
  • Object pronouns like "me", "him", "her" and "them"
  • To describe daily routines (brush your teeth, shower etc.)
  • To use important adverbs like "usually", "sometimes" and "always"
  • To use the days of the week with appropriate prepositions
  • To naming the months of the year
  • To use school vocabulary
  • To use past tenses
